Individual houses are rented on a weekly basis. Check-in day is Saturday; outside the high season and in special cases, a different check-in day can potentially be arranged.
For beginner surfers, we have two beginner boards available, plus six wetsuits in sizes for children aged 6–15.
Transport to the property is also possible by public bus. From the town of Caldas da Rainha, located 7 km away, the journey takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes and costs 7–10 EUR. Buses run several times per hour throughout the day until 1:30 a.m. (a total of 32 services per day).
From Caldas da Rainha, you can continue by local bus to the town of Foz do Arelho, which is located by the lagoon and just a 10-minute walk from our house.
Alternatively, we recommend using Uber or Bolt, which will take you directly from the bus station to our address at Travessa Maldonado Freitas 9, Foz do Arelho for around 5 EUR.
Another option is to rent a car at the airport, which can be arranged in advance online. Having a credit card can help reduce the rental cost. Outside the high season, car rental prices can be around 10–12 EUR per day. If you only have a standard debit card, higher insurance costs may apply. Recommended services: Edreams and Movida.

Outdoor & Sports Activities
Surfing and Water Sports
Our location is ideal for water lovers and wave seekers. Surfers will find great spots here, whether you’re a total beginner or an experienced rider.
If you’re into kitesurfing, the lagoon is a perfect place — especially the shallow waters near the Yacht Club. Surfing and bodyboarding are possible right in front of the lagoon, while more advanced surfers can head to Nazaré, only 20 minutes from our house. Nazaré is world-renowned for its giant waves that can reach up to 30 meters and attract legends like Garrett McNamara — we recommend watching the HBO documentary series 100 Foot Wave, filmed right there.
Yacht Club & Water Sports Rentals
We also recommend a visit to the local Yacht Club, where you can rent equipment for windsurfing, wing foiling, Hobie Cats, Laser sailboats, Optimist dinghies for kids, paddleboards, or kayaks. Sailing, kitesurfing, and windsurfing lessons are also available.
The Yacht Club is a great spot to relax — enjoy a drink at sunset and then take a walk to the ocean viewpoint, visible even from your bedroom window. The walk to the cliff takes about 15 minutes through beautiful nature. There’s also convenient parking available right below the cliff.

If you prefer staying on land, the area offers excellent conditions for golf, cycling, and fishing. Whether you’re looking for an adrenaline rush or peaceful active relaxation, our location has something for everyone.

The nearest trip takes you to the charming town of Caldas da Rainha, known for its lovely historic center and daily fruit and vegetable markets at the main square.

VILLA DE ARTES
Our homes are the perfect place for both relaxation and an active getaway. The villa adds another dimension to the experience—the opportunity to step into a vibrant artist’s studio. The villa has three bedrooms, each with space for up to three beds, a private terrace, a toilet, and a shower. At its heart is a spacious common area designed as an art studio or an experiential space for play. It includes a fully equipped kitchen and a dining room for shared meals. The villa is the ideal place for large families or groups of friends to spend time together. By arrangement, it is also possible to host creative residencies, yoga retreats, gatherings of friends, retreats, weddings, or team-building events.
The villa’s studio is designed so that all creative dreams can come true. Although it exudes the charm of an art studio at first glance, it can also host film screenings, theater workshops, and serve as a venue for team meetings or creative presentations of new products or collections. The villa’s interior will thus gradually transform through its own life—filling with art, unique design pieces, books, and collectibles from local producers. You will never step into the same space twice.
